Panel Slide
The outgoing panel leaves against the travel direction while the incoming one arrives with it. Both move by the same small distance, so the pair reads as one sheet sliding rather than two panels crossfading.

On a Tabs
Panels cross in the direction you moved: the outgoing one leaves the way the incoming one arrives. That is what tells the reader whether they went forward or back — without it, a tab switch is just a flicker.
The class is wm wm-panel-slide — the first half is the marker the trigger and reduced-motion rules hook into, the second is the effect.
