On a Badge
The fill stays opaque and the gradient lives in the border box, so the label stays readable while the colours travel. Badge paints its fill as an inline style, which beats any class — clear it with style={{ background: undefined }} and the class supplies both the fill and the rim.
The class is wm wm-spectrum-pill — the first half is the marker the trigger and reduced-motion rules hook into, the second is the effect.
